The Osage Maples is being created to provide local athletes with additional opportunities to learn, develop, compete, and proudly represent the Osage community.
We are building a program centered on quality coaching, strong fundamentals, accountability, teamwork, and a lasting love for the game.
The Osage Maples is a community-based youth baseball organization being developed for players and families in and around Osage, Iowa.
Our goal is to create a consistent and well-organized program where young athletes can strengthen their baseball skills, compete against quality opponents, build lasting friendships, and grow as teammates and individuals.
The Maples are not being created to replace existing baseball opportunities. We want to help strengthen Osage baseball by creating additional options for players who want to continue developing and competing.
Players should receive age-appropriate coaching that helps them improve their fundamentals, baseball knowledge, confidence, and ability to compete.
Teams and coaches should share common expectations so players can build upon what they learned during the previous season.
Players should understand that wearing the Maples name means representing their teammates, families, and community with pride.
The program should be built to serve Osage families for many years—not depend entirely on one coach, parent, team, or group of volunteers.
Baseball provides opportunities to learn lessons that extend far beyond the field.
Through practices, competition, success, and failure, players can learn:
Winning matters, and players should be taught to compete. However, the way they prepare, respond, improve, and treat others matters just as much.
Building the Osage Maples will require support from throughout the community.

You do not need to know everything about baseball to make a difference. Strong community programs are built by people contributing the skills, experience, time, and resources they have available.
The Osage Maples are still at the beginning of their story.
With the right coaches, volunteers, families, sponsors, and community support, we have an opportunity to build something that positively serves Osage players for many years.
